Director Homi Adajania and Dinesh Vijan’s much talked about project ‘Raabta’ starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Alia Bhatt in the lead, seems to have landed itself in trouble. While we were the first to tell you that Alia wasn't sure of doing the film, nothing official about it was revealed. However,as reported by Mumbai Mirror, the film, which was touted to be the most expensive love story, is in a soup, what with the film’s leading lady Alia Bhatt opting out of it at the very last minute.
Reportedly, ‘Raabta’ was earlier scheduled to go on-floors in May, but at the last minute,
Alia opted out of the film, as her platter is full with films like Vikas Bahl's ‘Shandaar’, Abhishek Chaubey's ‘Udta Punjab’, Shakun Batra's ‘Kapoor & Sons’ and the latest one being Karan Malhotra's ‘Shuddhi’.
With Alia exiting the project last minute, the makers are finding it difficult to find a replacement. Earlier, media reports had said that the film has been shelved. However, now, the film is scheduled to release early 2016 and that the makers are auditioning new comers for the female lead. Sushant Singh Rajput, who is still on board, will now be seen romancing a fresh face.
Sushant Singh Rajput, the hero of ‘Raabta’ is open to working with other leading ladies in the film. We have approached the film’s co directors Dinesh Vijan and Homi Adajania for their version of Alia’s exit and the replacement heroine and are waiting to hear from them.
